FAQ

Custom Jewellery & Design:

The creation of a custom piece can vary from 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the design's complexity.

The custom design process can vary; some customers bring their ideas while others need designer input. We schedule a consultation with our designer, who will sketch out ideas and provide a quote. A CAD design may be created for further clarity. Once approved, the piece is cast, crafted, and prepared for pickup.

We prefer to use new gold for custom pieces to ensure the highest quality finish. However, we offer to buy back your old gold and credit it towards your new custom creation, returning any stones to you.

Many customers choose to repurpose stones from their mother's old jewelry into new, custom-designed pieces. This is an excellent way to preserve sentimental value while creating something new and personal.

Diamonds & Jewellery Buying Guide

Before purchasing jewellery, consider the type of jewellery, the quality of materials, your budget, and the reputation of the seller. Researching the 4Cs of diamonds (cut, colour, clarity, and carat weight) is crucial if you're buying diamond jewellery.

Balance the 4Cs to match your budget. Prioritize cut for brilliance, consider near-colourless grades for colour, choose eye-clean clarity, and adjust the carat size based on these choices and your budget.

The 4Cs of diamonds are Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat Weight. They determine a diamond’s quality and value.

Ask about the diamond's 4Cs, the ring's metal type, any warranty or return policies, and whether the diamond is ethically sourced.

Consider durability, skin sensitivities, colour preference, and maintenance. Popular options include gold (various karats and colours), platinum, and silver.

Traditional guidelines suggest spending two months' salary, but it's more important to spend within your budget and consider your partner's expectations.

Current trends include vintage-inspired designs, colourful gemstones, unique band shapes, minimalist settings, and the growing popularity of lab-grown diamonds.

Most engagement rings can be resized. The process involves either adding or removing metal from the band to adjust its size, which should be done by a professional jeweller.

Jewellery Care & Customization

Custom jewellery allows personalization to reflect individual style, ensures a unique piece, and often increases sentimental value.

Regularly clean your jewellery with appropriate solutions, store it in a clean, dry place, and have it professionally checked and cleaned periodically.

A jewellery appraisal assesses the value of your jewellery for insurance purposes. It's recommended for valuable pieces to ensure proper coverage in case of loss or theft.
